Venture Week is organised by the Emmanuel Church, Sidlow Bridge and St. Nicholas Church, Charlwood. Each day begins with a short service, in St Nicholas' Church, of prayers and songs, including our very own Venture Week Song.

On Sunday the week is brought to a joyful conclusion with our rousing combined service at 11am where all the children, parents, leaders and helpers join together in worship.

Each group has prepared a contribution to the service: in the past these presentations have included prayers, songs, dances and even films. Watch this space!

Crawley Open House.

Crawley Open House provides support and services for those suffering the effects of homelessness, unemployment, loneliness, discrimination, or other forms of social exclusion.

Charity 2018

Wildlife Aid Foundation, Dedicated to the rescue, care and rehabilitation of British Wildlife.

The Wildlife Aid Foundation is dedicated to the rescue, care and rehabilitation of sick, injured and orphaned wild animals. Established in 1980, the charity's veterinary wildlife hospital in Leatherhead, Surrey deals with more than 20,000 wildlife emergencies every year. Our dedicated aim is to return every patient to the wild once they have recovered. The Foundation's work was the focus of the popular TV series Wildlife SOS on Discovery Channel's 'Animal Planet' and has now moved onto the worldwide platform of YouTube. The founder of the Foundation is the environmental broadcaster and campaigner Simon Cowell MBE.

The final total raised was £250, which went toward "adopting" a badger, two owl, a bird of prey and a hedgehog - one animal on behalf of each of the groups. We also delivered a large amount of towels, blankets, newspapers and pet food to the charity.

Charity 2017

Horley Food Bank, free food and toiletries for those in crisis.

The Horley Food Bank started on 4th February 2015 in response to a need in the local community. It is staffed by volunteers from the local churches and provides food and toiletries to those suffering a short-term crisis. Horley Food Bank offers support to anyone in need regardless of background including age, gender, ethnicity, sexuality, disability, people of all faiths and none.

The final total was £400 and two large boxes full of wholesome food. This includes all the money raised by individual groups, food donations left at Charlwood Church, the collection at the Venture Week Service and the collection at the evening service at Emmanuel Church.

Charity 2016

Toilet Twinning, Flushing Away Poverty.

Right now, more than 50 per cent of hospital beds in developing countries are filled with people who have an illness caused by poor sanitation or dirty water... 2.4 billion people don't have somewhere safe, clean and hygienic to go to the loo. That's more than a third of the people on the planet.

Toilet Twinning helps those in desperate poverty to have access to a proper latrine, clean water and the information they need to be healthy. Just £60 will buy a toilet in a home or community in the developing world, while £240 will buy a whole school's worth.

The final total was £731.25, including all the money raised by the individual groups, money left in the "collecting toilet", the collection at the Venture Week Service and the collection at the evening service at Emmanuel Church. We have bought a school toilet block and 8 individual toilets. When the certificates arrive we hope you will see them appearing on the toilet doors of the various Venture Week venues.
